PPIR is excited to host our first annual Spring Fling! Get ready for a day of total motorsports madness! This event includes the Ladies Open Drift, Gymkhana, CO Oval Vintage Racers, Track Sprints, Off the Street Drags, Car Show, Live Music, Food Vendors, and Night Drifting.
Join us for Spring Fling as we kick off the season with some Friday night drifting! Saturday morning, drivers have the opportunity to drive Track Sprints through the infield portion of our road course oval in a counterclockwise direction. Want to get more track time? Track Sprints offer the perfect and safe environment to push both you and your car to the limits while testing your current driving skills and car set up.
During lunch, the Colorado Vintage Oval Racers will be running on the 1/4 – mile oval! Participation in this portion of the event is strictly for members of Colorado Vintage Oval Racing. So if you have a vintage car you’d like to race, be sure to register for a membership today through their website. Otherwise, come enjoy watching them race around the infield!
Beginning at 1:30pm, we will be introducing a new motorsport attraction in the form of Gymkhana! This is a small, timed, slower-speed course featuring obstacles that the driver must maneuver through in a pre-determined layout. The driver will perform many different driving techniques such as 180 degree spins, 360 degree spins, figure 8’s, and other skills. Gymkhana creates an exhilarating environment, combining grip and drift driving. This is open to drivers of all skill levels in any type of vehicle.
In the afternoon, the drag strip will be open for unlimited 1/8th mile grudge runs, roll racing, and drag racing! As long as you have a current registration and insurance you are good to go down the strip! Helmets are not required as long as you don’t run faster than 7 seconds. Don’t feel like driving? Then join the car show for a chance to win an award in one of our categories! All driver tickets include automatic entry into the car show! PPIR will have a judge walking around throughout the day that will determine the winner of the car show. Spectator tickets are only $15 and allow attendees to enjoy all of the fun! And don’t forget that passengers are allowed for both Track Sprints and Off the Street Drags as long as they are 12 years or older; however, no one is allowed in the backseat.
Open Drifting will begin at 4pm and run until 11pm and is open to all skill levels! Drivers will have the opportunity to drift on the open drift layout that incorporates the carousel and infamous esses as the sun sets into the night. Spectators can watch from behind the walls as the drivers test their limits, speed, and control. PPIR’s Open Drift is great for drivers of all skill levels to go out and have fun, test their cars, or just get some more seat time! Drivers must wear a helmet and are required to attend the drivers meeting at 3:30pm.
In addition to all of the action in the infield, the Ladies Open Drift will take place in the back lot on Saturday at 9am! For more information on this, please visit the event page HERE.

Introducing Pikes Peak International Raceway’s new Track Attack Series!
Our goal for this series is to allow for a multifaceted event that includes a broad range of driving styles. This brings together drivers from multiple forms of motorsports, while introducing a more spectator-friendly environment.
PPIR’s Gymkhana is a short, timed, slower-speed course that the driver must correctly memorize to complete in the fastest time possible. This event creates an exhilarating environment, combining grip and drift driving while including many different driving techniques; these may include 180 degree turns, 360 degree turns, figure 8’s, and other fun features. “Drifting” is not a requirement in order to compete in Gymkhana. It is up to the driver, based on their specific vehicle and skill, to decide how much sliding versus grip driving is required in order to finish the course as fast as possible. This series is open to drivers of all skill levels in any type of vehicle with any drivetrain.
Track Sprints is a larger, timed, fast-paced road course, using the infield portion of our track in various layouts. Drivers will have the opportunity to push themselves and their vehicle to the limit. All runs will be single car, timed laps, from Point A to Point B. This series is open to drivers of all skill levels in any type of vehicle with any drivetrain.
Off the Street Drags is an 1/8th mile drag strip, giving drivers the opportunity to test their vehicle’s raw acceleration and speed. This grudge-style form of racing allows drivers to compete side by side against others and the clock. This series is open to drivers of all skill levels in any type of vehicle with any drivetrain.
For the 2024 season, PPIR intends for this new series to become a non-scored, fun and relaxed, competitive environment. Timing boards will be set up for each individual activity to challenge themselves and others.
In 2025, drivers can participate in the individual competitions or compete for the overall championship. The Track Attack Series will become a scored competition, producing podium finishes for cash prizes awarded at the end of the season. In addition, drivers can compete for a shot at the overall championship, collecting points from all three divisions of racing.
